This amazing Christmas Scene display opens the day after Thanksgiving each year and is open each weekend beginning on Friday evenings at 5:00 p.m., Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. and Sundays opening at 1:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. until Christmas. Groups of school children especially enjoy their outing to view Grimes Christmas Scene!
The Christmas building is also open during Crook County's Fair for the publics viewing. Special viewings can be arranged at other times during the year. Again this options depends on Beth's availabilty.
Entrance to Grimes Christmas Scene is free. The continuing opportunity to share with the public is dependent upon contributions. Grimes Christmas Scene is a 501(c)3 non profit project. Donations will allow the display to be able to continue well into the future for the publics enjoyment.
We couldn’t do Christmas in the Pines without the incredible partnership and support of the Crook County Fairgrounds. Each year, their team goes above and beyond — providing the space, resources, and encouragement that help make this magical event possible.
Putting together something this special takes a lot of hard work and heart, and the Fairgrounds crew has been with us every step of the way. Their kindness, flexibility, and commitment to our community mean so much.

CROOKED RIVER MODEL RAILROAD CLUB
While at the fairgrounds, you may want to add to your visit, the Crooked River Model Railroad. Located at the Crook County Fairgrounds in Prineville, train enthusiasts bring miniature railroads to life with impressive layouts, realistic scenery, and detailed craftsmanship. It’s a fun, family-friendly stop where you can marvel at the intricate displays and meet passionate hobbyists. Whether you’re a lifelong rail fan or just curious, a visit to the Crooked River Model Railroad Club offers a nostalgic glimpse into the art and creativity of model railroading. This is separate from Christmas in the Pines and has a different schedule.
They’re open for visitors Noon to 8 pm Saturday and Sunday’s only.
