A Note about Each Other

About Jerry, by Christina:

Since we met at a young age, I can attest that we both have changed in many ways. We would both agree it was the physical attraction in the beginning that drew our eyes to one another, but as we got to know one another, we soon realized the depth between us. Jerry was that boyfriend that acknowledged every month of dating with a sweet card and special little gifts. At the time he was right out of high school doing his apprenticeship to get into the Carpenter’s Union going to school while also working in the city to support himself because he knew he had his goal to get his own place and move forward with his life. At times I imagined it, but I never could have dreamt we would be where we are today. When he sets his mind to something, no matter how many hurdles, he does not stop until he accomplishes it. For the past 16 years I’ve watched him do just that. Working nights, weekends, 15 hour shifts, no matter the cost as long as he knew he was working toward the goal he wasn’t going to give up. It wasn’t always easy but together we made it through, to where we are today, in our beautiful home, that he has made into what it is with his own two hands. That apprentice 16 years ago is now a foreman with his own crew and has so many people that look up to him and now that he can teach. We looked for a “fixer-up” house and he has transformed it piece by piece over the past 4 years, into what we call home sweet home today. And through it all he manages to be the most loving, supportive husband which I thank God for every day. He is my biggest cheerleader, and has held my hand every day throughout all the curveballs and struggles life has thrown our/my way. His family values are honorable and loyal and he will help out anyone in need at the drop of a hat, no questions asked. He is my strength and best friend. Although he is very nervous, which who isn’t?!, I know in my heart beyond a shadow of a doubt, he is going to be the most amazing father!!!

About Christina, by Jerry:

Christina and I met in the winter of 2003 in a pizzeria. Who knew that getting a simple slice of pizza I would meet the person I would spend the rest of my life with. Since I have known Christina she has always been a hard worker. While getting straight A’s in high school and competing in school challenges she still made the time to work long hours in a restaurant. In 2008 Christina got a job as a receptionist for a Workers’ Compensation law firm and since then she has been promoted to settlement/appeals coordinator. Working at the firm Christina met a special person that would be more then just a co-worker. She was a bridesmaid in our wedding and asked Christina to be her maid of honor and later, the godmother to her son Anthony. This shows her extreme devotion to friends and family. Christina and I moved into our apartment together in 2013. That is where Christina showed her patience and support while I worked long hours to save money to start our life together. No matter what time I got home there was a hot meal on the table for me and Christina would sit with me to talk about our day. She is the most selfless and loving person I know. On May 29, 2015 we closed on our house and I asked Christina to be my wife and forever best friend. Once again as I renovated our “fixer upper” home, Christina stood by my side when the heat stopped working in winter and the skylights leaked with patience while I fixed it. As our home is now warm in winter and leak free, she is the rock that keeps it together with home cooked meals on the table and Sunday sauce on the stove. On June 14, 2018 my brother and sister in law gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Giuliana. Without hesitation they asked us to be her godparents. Once again Christina proved her love to me at a different level on how amazing she is with Giuliana. As soon as they both see each other their eyes light up with a smile from ear to ear. Seeing Christina love and nurture her godchildren is how I know she will be an amazing mother.
