Resource room in middle school is a supportive learning environment where students receive specialized instruction in small groups or one-on-one to help them succeed in their general education classes. Students come to the resource room for targeted support in areas such as reading, writing, math, social studies, electives, organization, and study skills, based on their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
The focus is on building skills, confidence, and independence while reinforcing grade-level content and helping students apply strategies they can use across all classes.
