Research

My research is at the intersection of economics, game theory, theoretical biology, and the study of language. It explores game theory as a tool for investigating language and communication, and more generally, meaning systems.

My current research program comprises four larger areas:

• Lewisian signaling games (signals of no cost),

• Costly-signaling games,

• Models of interactive knowledge and Bayesian dialogues, and

• Academic writing – the writing of mathematics and game theory – and narrative.

Within game theory, I have a special interest in solution concepts, notably game dynamics and classical equilibrium refinements, and the relations between them.
