Hello! My name is Christian Luckey and I am an aspiring artist. I would describe my music style uplifting, powerful melody that shows feeling and vulnerability as well. I hope that it gives the impression of an inspiration and that from it people feel empowered to take of life's toughest challenges, this is my main goal. As for other groups, my music would include a "dance fever" type feeling with some songs being very energetic, as well as others being slow and a beat that you can just bed rot too.
I was born and raised primarily in Roseville, Michigan and grew up with my mom and younger sister. Since a young age, I've always had a passion for creative writing. I remember writing my grandmother story after story, even though the stories were fairly simple. I did and still do, love writing and being able to put words on a page that create a vivid picture in your mind. Expressing yourself in writing was my stress reliever and unbeknownst to me, was going to help me significantly through the next couple of years.
At the age of four, I developed a speech impediment commonly known as "stuttering" which significantly limited my fluency while speaking. It was and still remains to be a struggle in my daily life. From a combination of bullying, insecurity, being misunderstood, and a feeling of not belonging, I decided that the best way to deal with this was to not speak at all, this was in middle school. To manage to silence, I turned to writing, where my words could flow freely on a page without interruption. Those words turned into short stories, then to poems, and then eventually into songs. In 7th grade, I joined my middle school band and choir programs. There I really found my love in music, instrumentally and vocally. Singing and songwriting was my escape from my chains that once bounded me, allowing me to express the words that were once locked inside me, for this I am forever grateful.
I am now a sophomore in high school, I still participate in my school's band program, and I have self-taught myself how to play guitar. I have met many people and I have done things that I never thought were possible if I were to deal with my speech impediment on my own. Writing and music in theory, saved my life and allowed me to go outside of the bubble that I thought I'd never pop. Along with the mentors, friends, and to my mother and younger sister for giving me the inspiration to move on will forever live with me. With my music and lyrics, I wish to do the same for others.
In the next 5-10 years, I hope to be a signed artist with a big following on my social media platforms as well as an album released. I want to have good connections in the music business and be able to meet people of authority who make a big impact in the music industry. I want the resources in order to learn more about music na dhow to improve myself as an artist.
