My research focuses on macroeconomics, economic dynamics, social and economic networks, inequality, innovation, and the interaction between individual behaviour and aggregate economic outcomes.
A recurring theme in my work is how network structure and social interactions affect economic behaviour, growth, inequality, innovation, financial stability and the transmission of information.

I study how the structure of social and economic connections shapes individual decisions and aggregate outcomes. My work in this area includes research on social interaction, information transmission, cross-ownership, production networks, identity and status consumption.
Another strand of my research examines economic growth, innovation, structural change and productivity. Recent work studies knowledge-based structural change and the role of input-output networks in explaining productivity and income differences across countries.
My research also investigates the interaction between inequality, wealth distribution, redistribution and macroeconomic dynamics, including the role played by heterogeneous preferences and social identity.
A long-standing part of my research concerns dynamic general equilibrium, endogenous fluctuations, indeterminacy and the stability of economic equilibria.
