I am a social scientist with wide interests. Most of my current research addresses issues around labour market and social policy.
I have also done work, including some ongoing projects, on collective bargaining and labour law, particularly relating to union organizing, unfair labour practices and interest arbitration. I was the 2013 international recipient of the LERA John Dunlop Scholar for outstanding contributions to the field of collective bargaining. I have served as an expert in many of the recent constitutional challenges on collective bargaining laws including Saskatchewan Federation of Labour (part of the 'new labour trilogy'), Canada Post, Air Canada, the Ontario Medical Association, and the British Columbia Ports. I was Editor-in-Chief of Industrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society (University of California at Berkeley) from 2015 to 2021.
Currently my teaching includes Data Science in our grad program along with Microeconometrics and Intro Stats in our undergrad program.
