I’m proud to support Chris Schweizer for OEA Region 1 Vice President. Chris is committed to building union power that actually wins—for our contracts, our working conditions, and fully funded schools for our students. He’s not just about organizing members; he’s also fighting for tax reform in Oregon to make sure our schools and communities get the resources they need. Chris leads with action and solidarity, training members to build workplace and political power while showing up for each other across locals. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Chris for Region I. 

I am voting for Chris Schweizer for Region 1 Vice President. One of my reasons is that he is committed to strengthening our union through education and organizing. Chris has supported my local by leading trainings on grievances and school funding. I agree with his values of empowering members through knowledge and building their power.

I’m proud to be supporting Chris Schweizer for OEA Region 1 Vice President. Chris has the experience and vision we need to organize for the funding and learning conditions we and our students deserve. As a current OEA Board Director, Chris can build a bridge between the state and the various Region 1 locals in order to build real power to bring real change to our district and state. I know Chris Schweizer has the ability to authentically engage our local and unite Region 1 for meaningful collective action and solidarity because I’ve seen him lead this work in PAT and OEA. I sat in an organizing for power training that Chris led and it transformed my understanding of what we are capable of accomplishing when we stand together. As a local leader, I’m honored and excited to work with Chris to engage members and build real power for change in Oregon and beyond. 

Chris remains calm and focused under pressure, asks the difficult questions, and holds himself and others accountable to a high standard. What I admire most about Chris is his strategic, systems level thinking. He doesn’t just respond to challenges, he anticipates them. He empowers others and organizes to meet challenges head on.

Chris helped my local build our contract action teams (CATs) and showed up at bargaining sessions to support us when we needed it the most. I know he has helped other locals jump start their grievance processes and build better union democracy. I’ve seen him walk picket lines for countless unions in Oregon. Highest possible endorsement! 

It is my great honor and privilege to endorse my brother Chris Schweizer. Chris has helped me demystify the arcane processes of our union. Chris shows up not just for our members, but workers across the labor movement, showing up alongside nurses, Starbucks baristas, and community college educators fighting for the common good. I know that Chris will be a champion for democracy, solidarity, and labor power as Region I VP

 I endorse Chris Schweizer for OEA Region 1 Vice President because he not only has a vision for where our union needs to go, but has a meticulous attention to detail for how we get there. Chris is a well balanced leader: he is one who listens, analyzes, then inspires to action. Chris is fighting for something bigger than the same politics that have meant cuts and closures. He fights with us for something bigger, and brings in all of the workers in OEA to build a democratic, powerful, winning union in Oregon. 

Chris grounds his work in listening and empathy while staying action oriented and focused on results. He truly cares about restoring the dignity and humanity of not just the teaching profession, but of all workers on the job. He is able to identify the most pressing issues that we face and use them to motivate people to take action to improve their own conditions through education and organizing.

Chris is a fearless leader who envisions an OEA that actually organizes statewide for improving our schools. Working with Chris, I’ve seen his ability to move members to action, his courage to speak truth to power in our district and on our Executive Board, and to lead our union with the rank and file perspective front and center with every decision.
