Chris Juneau, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS, CPSS

Chris Juneau serves as the Director of Clinical Education for the Augustana University Doctor of Physical Therapy program in Colorado. He is a residency and fellowship trained Doctor of Physical Therapy with advanced training in sports performance, strength and conditioning, biomechanics, and data analytics. He holds a Master of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Science and Biomechanics from Auckland University of Technology and is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy. His postgraduate training includes advanced education through the University of St. Augustine, The Ohio State University, the University of Louisville, and AUT New Zealand.
In addition to his academic appointment, Chris serves as Director at Next Stage Physiotherapy & Performance, LLC, where he leads multidisciplinary rehabilitation and performance services across clinical, athletic, and performing arts environments. His work emphasizes objective testing, force measurement, and data-informed decision making to support injury management, performance development, and long-term physical sustainability.
He is the founder of Dungeons & Dynamometers, an education platform focused on force testing, velocity-based training, and applied performance analytics for clinicians and performance professionals. Through this work, Chris develops and teaches standardized testing frameworks designed to improve reliability, consistency, and real-world applicability.
Chris has extensive experience in tactical and high-performance settings, having supported initiatives with U.S. Space Force, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, and U.S. Air Force performance programs. He holds leadership and service roles within the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy (AASPT), and has held leadership roles in residency education. He helps organize national continuing education events including the Tendon Summit, serves on editorial boards, and peer reviews for journals including Sports Health and the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy. He is a 2026 Aspen Ideas Health Fellow and co-hosts the PT Inquest podcast, a long-running program devoted to the critical appraisal of sports science and rehabilitation research.
His research centers on the measurement of force and its application to clinical decision making. Published work includes the reliability and validity of load-cell and strain-gauge based knee extension testing in the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation, the Journal of Science in Sport and Exercise, and the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy. His most recent study establishes sex-stratified normative isometric hip strength reference values in collegiate cross-country runners using externally fixated inline tension dynamometry, in press at Sports Medicine International Open.
As a lecturer, public speaker, and educator, Chris works across diverse populations (from elite athletes to performing artists) integrating biomechanics, data science, and clinical expertise to advance performance and reduce injury risk.
