Chris Klug has been counseling grieving adults and teens for over 20 years. In 1997, he became the Bereavement Coordinator at Iowa City Hospice, remaining there through 2009, when he began private practice as a grief counselor. In 2003 he received the designation Certified in Thanatology: Death, Dying and Bereavement from the Association for Death Education and Counseling. Chris also teaches about grief and loss, including a quarterly in-service for the Palliative Care Staff at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, an Understanding and Supporting Grieving Children and Teens class to school teachers and counselors through Grantwood AEA and to volunteers at the Crisis Center of Johnson County. He also speaks frequently at conferences and to grief support groups.
