Chris (HE) Henschel and Ryan (WE) Weichel grew up together in the 80s and 90s, in Kamloops, BC.
Now, after living separate lives on opposite ends of the country for the last 20 years, they have once again reunited! Using influences from their childhoods, they take a comedic look at life for middle aged Dads in 2025. Sometimes, it gets weird.
With the power of green screen and newfangled computing technology, they make sketch comedy videos posted weekly on their YouTube channel: HE-WE-TV!

THE C.I.Eh.
The C.I.Eh. is a 14 part web comedy series about two Canadian Intelligence agents fighting against time to stop their evil nemesis, Mr. Spool, from draining the Thompson River to create a waterslide park atop Mount Peter in Kamloops, B.C. Our heroes are faced with absurd levels of ever deepening community conspiracies as they fight to protect the people of Kamloops from corporate greed, a gallery of rogues, and mecha-beavers.
This project will be a love letter to the genres of shows that we grew up watching and to Canada at large. We plan to combine live action with animation, miniature models, and puppets using green screen and trick photography. Using new technology to mimic older styles has been a tenet of our creative process that we wish to push even further!
We are currently applying for grants and seeking additional funding opportunities to bring this project to life.
Earlier this year, we had written a short version of the C.I.Eh. to film for the Kamloops Film Festival. We were planning on having Ryan shoot all principal photography in Kamloops, except for Chris's parts (they were to be shot against a green screen in Montreal and added in to the scene).
Ryan was in a lot of pain, but he powered through a day of filming. Unfortunately, we simply didn't plan quite enough. We wouldn't have had the success that we imagined had we progressed with that version of the story.
So we regrouped, decided to ditch what we had done up to that point, and reevaluated the script. We liked what we had written, but there was room for more. A lot more. So what started out as a single 5 minute short film, has now expanded into a 14 part series.
The visual style of C.I.Eh. would best be described as a visual collage. We will mix live action, classical and 3D animation, puppetry, miniatures and a healthy dose of Canadian content from our childhoods (think Roger Rabbit meets the Muppets crossed with The Beachcombers and The Raccoons). We have been slowly moving toward this style of storytelling with our Youtube Channel, testing our ideas for feasibility.
