In kindergarten I decided to write the number 1 at the top of a piece of paper. Then 2, then 4, 8, 16, and I kept doubling until I ran out of room at 1,267,650,600,228,229,401,496,703,205,376.
You could say I've always liked finding patterns in numbers.
I just told you that story, which is nice because the next thing I want to say is that I like sharing the things I find in the numbers.
If you're curious about the stories in data, you're in the right place.
My brain latches onto lots of "I wonder..."s but the numbers I write about usually have to do with 🏀 & 🎵. While I've posted some stories here, you'll
find my latest work at Charting Hoops & Random Interesting Stories.
I'm currently working on a book called Skytown, a history of the Chicago Sky that recounts the team's 15-year journey to a WNBA championship and explores the best individual performances, the best (and worst) nicknames, the evolution of the three-point shot, why the team should / should not move, and more.
