Public Outreach
Communicating the fascinating story of our own evolution to the public in various settings has been a great source of enjoyment for me over the last decade.
I have been fortunate enough to engage people on this subject as part of large events including the opening of the current human evolution exhibit Natural History Museum, London and the opening of the Origins: Fossils from the Cradle of Humankind exhibit, Perot Museum, Dallas, Texas. I have also connected with people on this subject while exhibiting casts of fossil remains before such formal events such as the Annual Stirling Lecture at the University of Kent and have discussed the subject in the context of a broad spectrum of view points at my local museum, the Beaney: House of Art and Knowledge, Canterbury, Kent.
It has been a privilege to talk to more specific public audiences including prospective undergraduates at London Anthropology Day in the British Museum, London and as part of open days at University of Kent. I've also stimulated lively discussion with older audiences as part of the Pint of Science festival in Tonbridge, Kent and supported my colleagues at Soapbox Science, Canterbury, Kent. I have also co-organised the online Biological Anthropology seminar series at Kent, which was opened to the public for the first time.

My research has been featured by several networks including, The Times, The Daily Mail, The Independent and CNN among many other outlets. It has also been featured as part of the 15 projects highlighted in the "15 ways the European Research Council transformed science" celebrating 10,000 ERC grantees.
I have also been involved in Heritage work, scanning the oldest intact chicken egg yet found (CNN; Guardian) and the oldest shoe yet found in the UK (The Times; Daily Mail) .
