Humanities research utilizing cutting-edge data science knowledge and tools
Researchers from the Center for Data Science in Humanities @ Chosun University will participate in the international academic conferences SICOL 2026 and ICIS 2026, presenting a total of 14 papers and posters.
The team will share various research achievements derived through interdisciplinary cooperation between the humanities and science & technology, covering fields such as child language acquisition, speech recognition, and data analysis.
The Center for Data Science in Humanities and the Chosun Baby Lab are pleased to welcome two students participating in the 2026 Summer Research Internship Program.
This year's program includes Subin Kim (University of Chicago) and Hadiya Cabdi (Smith College), who are conducting research on children's social relationship inference based on Korean honorific speech and cross-cultural multimodal communication in Korean and U.S. mother-child interactions, respectively.
The Chosun University Center for Humanities Data Science, in collaboration with POSTECH MINDS and researchers from Korea and abroad, will host the Music, Mathematics & Language 2026 International Workshop.
This workshop will serve as an academic platform for exploring the interdisciplinary connections among music, mathematics, and language from the perspectives of data science and artificial intelligence.
The HK 3.0 Workshop brings together researchers to share the latest research and methodological advances in the fields of language, cognition, and society, while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. The workshop features invited talks, research presentations, and in-depth discussions on current theoretical and methodological developments.

Held in conjunction with the HK 3.0 Workshop, this research methodology tutorial introduces practical approaches to experimental design, statistical analysis, and quantitative research methods for language science and related fields. The tutorial is designed to strengthen the methodological skills required for conducting quantitative research.
