The work “Testing the Effects of Syntactic Framing on Shape Bias in Korean Adults” by Jongmin Jung and Eon-Suk Ko of the Center for Data Science in Humanities at Chosun University has been selected as a Meritorious Poster Submission for the 2026 ASHA Convention.
Of the 1,418 poster submissions received in 2026, only 85 were selected for meritorious recognition, representing approximately 6% of all submissions. The work will be presented as a poster at the 2026 ASHA Convention on November 19.
The Center for Data Science in Humanities at Chosun University successfully hosted the HK 3.0 International Workshop 「Language, Cognition, and Society 2026」 from August 19 to 20, 2026. Researchers from Korea and abroad participated both in person and online, sharing research findings and methodologies across the fields of language, cognition, and society and engaging in active academic exchange.
The Center for Data Science in Humanities at Chosun University hosted the Research Methods Tutorial 「From Experimental Design to Statistical Analysis: Research Methods in Language Science」 on August 21, 2026. Participants explored essential research methods in language science, including experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis, through practical examples and hands-on activities.
The Center for Data Science in Humanities and the Chosun Baby Lab are pleased to welcome two students participating in the 2026 Summer Research Internship Program.
This year's program includes Subin Kim (University of Chicago) and Hadiya Cabdi (Smith College), who are conducting research on children's social relationship inference based on Korean honorific speech and cross-cultural multimodal communication in Korean and U.S. mother-child interactions, respectively.
