Lead halide perovskites are developed for a number of optoelectronic applications. Here, Cho and colleagues use a thermal gradient to achieve directional crystallization of methyl ammonium lead iodide films. The periodic microarrays exhibit anisotropic charge transport properties.

The Journal of Physical Chemistry C:

Water can be used for direct transformation of three-dimensional perovskites (CsPbBr₃) to two-dimensional perovskites (CsPb₂Br₅). These post-synthesized 2D perovskite films exhibit excellent stability against humidity and high photoluminescence quantum yield in solid films.
