Invite family members to your shared board via the in-app share flow (iCloud/CloudKit share). They’ll get access to the shared tasks/lists you choose. Family Sharing on the App Store is separate, see the next question about subscriptions.
If your subscription is eligible for Apple Family Sharing, your family can use it without paying again. If they hit the paywall, they should tap “Restore Purchases.”
If your Family-Sharing isn't enabled, each person needs their own purchase.
Make sure you’re signed in with the Apple ID that’s in the same Family Sharing group. On the paywall, tap “Restore Purchases.” If it still doesn’t unlock, restart the app and try again; if issues persist, contact support.
Turn on Background App Refresh for Family Chore Board (Settings > General > Background App Refresh). This lets the app run its CloudKit sync tasks in the background.
Keep push notifications enabled so silent push + CloudKit subscriptions can trigger immediate imports; without them, updates may wait until you reopen the app.
With both enabled, new/updated tasks assigned to you should sync quickly; if either is off, sync can be delayed until the next foreground launch.
They’re recommended. Push is used for task assignment alerts and due-date reminders, and to trigger faster background sync of shared data. You can still use the app with notifications off, but updates may be slower.
CloudKit can’t run the scheduled background sync, and silent pushes may not complete. Your data will still sync when you open the app, but shared updates may be delayed.
Leave the shared board (stop accepting the CloudKit share) and/or ask the owner to remove your access. You can also delete the app’s iCloud data from Settings if you want it removed from your iCloud account.
Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. You can view, change, or cancel there. If you change devices, use “Restore Purchases” in the app.
Check Settings > Notifications > Family Chore Board and enable Allow Notifications. Also ensure Background App Refresh is on; both help the app receive and act on CloudKit updates.
Only the content in boards you share (tasks, lists, member names/emojis/notes) is visible to invitees. Private boards stay private to your Apple ID.
