Chore Champion is a family chore-and-rewards app designed for children, used together with a parent or guardian. We take children's privacy seriously and collect only what the app needs to work.
From the parent who sets up a family
Email address (used only so a parent can sign back in on another device).
A 4-digit parent PIN, stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash. We cannot see or recover it.
About each child profile (entered by the parent or child)
A first name or nickname, a chosen avatar style (boy/girl), a chosen pet, and an optional pet name.
A 4-digit profile PIN used to switch between siblings on a shared device.
App activity: chores completed, points and coins earned and spent, virtual items owned, mini-game high scores, in-app duel/expedition results, and streaks/badges.
Automatically
An anonymous device identifier created by Firebase Authentication so a device can access its own family's data. It is not linked to a Google account or to any personal identity.
Basic crash and performance diagnostics may be collected by Google Play / Firebase to keep the app working.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
Only to run the app: showing chores, tracking points, syncing between a family's devices, and sending in-app notifications (for example "Chore approved!"). We do not sell data, and we do not use children's data for marketing.
Data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) in the United States, protected by security rules so that only devices belonging to the same family can read or change that family's data. Google acts as our service provider under its own privacy commitments (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy).
The optional Premium upgrade is processed entirely by Google Play. We never see payment card details. Purchase status is stored with the family's account so it applies to all of the family's devices.
The parent who created the family controls all data in it. A parent can:
Review or update a child's profile from within the app (Parent Hub).
Delete a child's profile from within the app, which removes that child's data.
Ask us to delete the entire family account and all associated data by emailing [YOUR SUPPORT EMAIL] from the parent email on the account. We complete deletions within 30 days.
We do not knowingly collect information from a child without a parent setting up the family first, and we never require a child to provide more information than is reasonably necessary to use the app.
Family data is only accessible to signed-in devices that have joined the family with its private family code. PINs are hashed. Please keep your family code private; anyone with the code can join the family.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
