Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA)
The Bachelor of Science in Office Administration is a four-year degree program that follows a ladderized curriculum. Students specialize in one of three areas starting in their third year:
Corporate Transcription
Legal Transcription
Medical Transcription

The Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) program at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) was established to meet the growing demand for skilled administrative professionals in various industries. With PUP’s commitment to providing quality and accessible education, the program was introduced as part of the university’s mission to equip students with practical skills and a strong foundation in office management, communication, and organizational systems.
Over the years, the BSOA program evolved to reflect the changing needs of the workplace. The program adopted a ladderized curriculum, allowing students to specialize in Corporate Transcription, Legal Transcription, or Medical Transcription starting in their third year. This specialization prepares students for careers in diverse fields such as business offices, legal institutions, and healthcare organizations.
The BSOA program has gained recognition for producing competent graduates who are known for their professionalism, adaptability, and technical expertise. Today, it continues to be one of the most sought-after programs at PUP, contributing to the university’s legacy of excellence and service to the Filipino people.

Admission requirements for the BSOA programs are as follows:
Must have passed the PUP College Entrance Test (PUPCET)
Must have a high school average of 82% and above
Must have a grade of 82% in English
Must have passed the interview given by the college
Must have completed at least one (1) year residence in previous college with GWA of 2.0 or higher and with no failing grade, incomplete, and/ or withdrawn/ dropped course.
Passed the college screening
Filed a Shifting Form duly released, accepted and acknowledged by the releasing college, accepting college, and OUR respectively.
Acceptance of application for shifting to the program is subject to the availability of slots.
Must have completed at least one (1) year residence in previous college /university with no failing grade, incomplete, and/or withdrawn/dropped course.
Passed the college screening.
Acceptance of application for transferees to the program is subject to the availability of slots.
No failures of grade equivalent to 75% on the total units enrolled in the previous semester;
With good moral character;
And finished the course in the prescribed number of years or with an extension of one year on a case to case basis.
