PNAS: Novel Biosynthetic Mechanisms involved in the Making of a 60 yo Antibiotic

Collaborative work with Prof Delin You and his team at the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Metabolism, Shanghai Jiao-Tong University is published in PNAS today! 

See the article here.  The study revealed a novel biosynthetic gene ensemble is involved in the biosynthesis of an important pyrrolidine-containing protein synthesis inhibitor anisomycin, which was isolated over 60 years ago from Streptomyces.
