I have been a volunteer for the Science Fest at Indiana University Bloomington in Nov 2025. This event is open annually to the publics. I joined the program lead by Professor Matthias Weber. The goal is to use several copies of a simple shape with slits (called a slidable) to build paper sculptures. For example, the following sculpture is made by eight equilateral triangles:
I worked as a mentor of Alayna Veeck for the directed reading program (Spring 2026) . We studyed optimal transport. The primary resource used is the book An Invitation to Optimal Transport, Wasserstein Distances, and Gradient Flows by Alessio Figalli and Federico Glaudo. Besides, another resource on the application side of optimal transport is Computational Optimal Transport by Gabriel Peyré and Marco Cuturi.
Alayna won the 1st place in 2026 Research Poster Competition at IU. Congrats!
