Description – Guild members are challenged to make a doll quilt that is inspired by a children’s book. Books and doll quilts will be donated to a charity selected by the guild. Books have been selected by President, Pam Snow, and purchased by the guild. Each book has quilting as a part of the story.
Rules –
· The doll quilts should be inspired by the book you select.
· Quilt size is to be between 15” and 30”. No more than 100” around the perimeter.
· Quilt can be square or rectangular. (Most doll cribs, cradles and beds are rectangular)
· They can be hand pieced, machine pieced, appliquéd, traditional, modern, or a combination. (Keep in mind the time period of your story)
· Actual quilting can be done by machine or hand.
· Quilts should include a top, batting, and binding.
· Embellishments can be added. (These are going to small children, so make sure any embellishment is “Child Safe”.)
Due date – November meeting
I’ve asked our Charity Chairperson, Susan Samuel, to research possible charities where we could donate our quilts and books. I’m sure she welcomes any ideas from Cholla quilters.
