States and local governments should continue to ensure access to testing for low-income communities of color, provide additional health and nutritional resources to families residing in high poverty areas, and provide state- and city-supported programs for the undocumented, who are ineligible for federal assistance programs.
For lower-income people, cities should invest in health protection measures for residents who rely on public transit and residents living in at risk neighborhoods and expand and enforce workplace health and safety regulations to protect workers long-term, especially essential workers.
For better access regarding public healthcare, local governments should supply members of low-income areas with the technology necessary to access telehealth [7].
By creating change at the local and then state level, a “normal” world is achievable at the national level.
