Schoodic Institute is Acadia National Park’s primary partner in science and education and is located on the homeland of the Wabanaki, People of the Dawn. Participants are encouraged to learn about Wabanaki sovereignty at wabanakialliance.com/sovereignty and the Wabanaki Studies Law at wabanakialliance.com/wabanaki-studies-law.
We are collaborating with the Wabanaki people on activities for the unconference.
This unconference will be held July 28th -- August 1st, 2025 in Winter Harbor, Maine, at the Schoodic Institute, whose mission is “inspiring science, learning, and community for a changing world.” On-site lodging and meal costs for all participants are included in the conference registration fee (TBD, <= $300 USD), so the only expenses to participants are travel and registration. Early Career Researchers are eligible for travel grants, courtesy of NRAO, on an as-needed basis to further offset the cost of attending.
.LODGING: On-site lodging will be provided through the Schoodic Shores Apartments. Every attendee will have their own private bedroom attatched to a shared common area with 1 or 3 other participants. Each apartment has WiFi, bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room and a dining room. After the participant list has been finalized we will work with attendees to fill rooms in accordance with their preferences and needs.
.MEALS: Catering at the Schoodic Institute can and will accommodate dietary restrictions. We will work with participants to make sure their dietary needs are met throughout the conference.
