I'm a second year PhD student in the Linguistics Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I use she/her/hers pronouns.
My interests vary widely, but my research program past and present is centrally concerned with using linguistic tools to increase understanding of highly marginalized and excluded populations. Learn more about my research here. I also have a longtime passion for activism, which I continue to do as the treasurer of the Queer and Trans Graduate Student Union at UCSB.
I graduated with a degree in Language Studies (Japanese emphasis) in 2014 from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Grant McGuire and Pranav Anand supervised my undergraduate thesis titled, "Speaker Gender and the Perception of Grammatical Gender."
