Internship Work

Pattie Locke Photography 

is based in Cumberland ME. She takes personalized photos for her clients, in her studio or on location. 

During my senior year of high school, I took an Internship course. I was guided towards internships that were within my interests. I interned with an art teacher from a local intermediate school, as well as with a successful, self-employed photographer. These experiences taught me a lot, from helping young students find their creative side to setting up lighting and backdrops for professional portraits in and outside of the studio. 

Responsibilities that I had while working with Pattie 

• Record behind-the-scenes footage for social media page

• Keep young kids' attention on the camera during family photoshoots

• Be able to work with heavy-duty equipment, set it up, and break it down  

• Coordinate schedules with Pattie and attend photoshoots outside of the school given internship time

Responsibilities in the Classroom

• Be knowledgeable of safety precautions, and emergency exits in case of evacuation

• Guide students safely while still allowing them to learn for themselves how new tools work  

• While teaching my own lesson, keep students engaged, focused, and interested 

• Maintain a friendly and happy demeanor regardless of mood
