Document Description: This is a health record called, A Week At A Glance. It provides the teacher with information about a student's medical needs, what procedures need to be implemented each day, as well as how long each procedure should take. The teacher has access to this log and uses it to ensure they are following the correct routines for the student. I learned that it is vital for teachers to know about, and use, health records in order to keep their students safe and healthy throughout each day. In the future, I plan on using health charts in order to keep accurate data and ensure my students stay healthy.
Document Description: This is an email sent out by the school nurse to inform the staff and students at Rigby High school. The nurse stated procedures the staff and students should follow in order to prevent the flu at school. The nurse sent this email out in response to a giant flu outbreak in the Rigby area. In the future, I plan to follow my school's health procedures and try my best to prevent diseases from spreading within my classroom.
Document Description: I created this para-educator handbook to help train my future para-educators and teach them their roles and responsibilities in the classroom. Collaborating with my para-educators will help every one be on the same page and will help the classroom run smoothly. After creating this handbook, I reflected and learned the importance of informing others of my expectations and the importance of working together as a team. In the future, I plan on informing and training my future paraeducators by explaining the appropriate ways to help and strategies to implement while working with students with special needs.

Document Description: For my Family and Community class, my group found community resources for a struggling family. The family had a child with language deficits and behavior problems. Based on the family's concerns and the current information we were provided with, we made suggestions on what community resources they should turn to for help. Through this process, I learned how to research specific therapists and support groups in the surrounding area to help the family. In the future, I plan to continue to research outside community resources like therapists, counselors, and support groups to help provide parents with potential assistance they may need.

Document Description: This is a Health Care Plan used at Rigby High School. The Health Care Plan gives current information of what the student's seizures are and what they look like. It also mentions how teachers should respond to seizures and when they should contact other school officials. I learned that having this information is crucial for teachers because it provides them with the information they need to know in order to recognize and react to seizures. In the future, I plan to review my students Health Care Plans in order to be more informed and better prepared for incidents that may arise in the classroom.
Document Description: For my Strategies course, I interviewed a parent of a child who has Autism. From the interview, I learned about the child's medical history which entails his surgeries, his medications, and his therapists and doctors he has to meet his specific needs. Learning about the student's previous medical history and current medical needs, has helped give me the background information needed to move forward in our intervention sessions to ensure the student's safety. As a future teacher, I will continue to make myself aware of my students individualized medical needs and apply the necessary safety precautions and procedures.

Document Description: This is a seizure action plan made for one of the students at Rigby High School. I learned that this plan gives teachers the information needed on how to react if a seizure occurs in the classroom. The plan provides teachers with an example on how to accurately keep data by listing the seizure type, the length, the frequency, and a description. It also states the specific procedures that are to be followed if the seizure occurs during class time. I learned that it is the teacher's responsibility to respond if they see signs of a seizure. In the future, I plan on learning about my students specific medical conditions and health care needs in order to ensure safety within the classroom.
Document Description: This poster states what to do if there in an emergency at school. I learned there are a variety of different procedures to follow based on the type of emergency situation. Some examples of emergency procedures are a lockdown, a lockout, a fire drill, and an earthquake drill. I learned from reading this poster, and other safety drill handouts, how both the teacher and the students are supposed to respond and react. In the future, I plan on teaching my students about these procedures, and walking them through drills, so they understand what to do in a real emergency. As a future teacher, it will be my responsibility to keep all of my students safe.
Document Description: For my Exceptional Students course, I attended a two hour training, called Darkness to Light, which taught me how to prevent child abuse. The training informed me of the warning signs of child abuse and ways to appropriately react to the situations. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to look out for children. I plan on being aware of their personal lives and being ready to provide them with the extra help, if needed. In the future, I will apply what I have learned from the training by carefully observing my students' emotions and behaviors.
Document Description: This is a Communicable Disease Checklist for parents in the Long Beach Unified School District. This form provides parents with information if their child has been exposed to one of these communicable diseases. I learned about the different diseases, their symptoms, and the importance of seeing a physician to get the necessary treatment. As a future teacher, I will make sure all the parents are aware if their child as been exposed to communicable diseases, in order to keep all my students from spreading the disease.
