Professional Experience:
Dr. Chittaranjan Mandal is working in the Anthropological Survey of India since 1996. He has worked on various national research projects in the Survey. He has also completed an individual project.
He possesses a deep-rooted field work experiences in varied field situation of the country for collection of empirical firsthand data which are presented in seminars/workshops and are published. He has published number of research papers in reputed journals, published a good number of articles in edited books.
He is a co-author of THE FUMING FOREST: AN ANALYTICAL CRITIQUE (2014).
He also co-authored another book, titled, “Genomic Diversity in People of India: Focus on mt DNA and Y-chromosome polymorphism” (2022).
Along with national projects, he was also involved in disseminating knowledge through exhibitions in the Survey.
He is a life member of SIMA (Society for Indian Medical Anthropology), a professional Anthropological Association.
