The African Renaissance Monument, a 171 ft tall statue located on top of one of the twin hills outside Dakar, Senegal. It was designed by Pierre Goudiaby, a Senegalese architect and it overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Source
A rare picture of me at the African Renaissance Monument. I visited this place during MLSS Senegal 2025
I am Just a Girl, trying to do some of the most difficult things, in the most interesting ways possible:)
Recently, I have spent some time asking myself what I think are some of the most important questions facing Artificial Intelligence and Humanity. In particular, how do we ensure that AI systems are trustworthy; aligned with human values, principles, and goals? How do we ensure that AI systems are Safe; incapable of perpetuating early, mid and catastrophic risks? How do we reduce AI Colonialism in the global south?
I want to start by collecting cases of AI harms from the general public. This summer, I will be spending some time building an AI Safety Agent; a conversational agent that logs cases/complaints of AI harms from users(callers). I am currently looking for collaborators:) Follow this project here.
PS: I will be resuming my Mphil in Human-Inspired AI @ University of Cambridge, under the Centre for Human-Inspired Artificial Intelligence (CHIA), within the Institute for Technology and Humanity (ITH), this fall.
