Dr. Chiranji Lal Chowdhary is currently serving as an Associate Professor (Senior) in the School of Computer Science Engineering and Information Systems (SCORE) at Vellore Institute of Technology (https://vit.ac.in/), Vellore, TN, India. He earned his Ph.D. in "Segmentation and Feature Extraction of Mammograms using Computational Intelligence Approach" from VIT University, Vellore, India, in 2017.

His academic journey includes a Master's (M.Tech.) degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore, and a Bachelor's degree (B.E.) in Computer Science and Engineering from MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr. Chowdhary was honored as one of the Top 2% Scientists in the World by a survey conducted by Stanford University. This recognition, based on citations, h-index, and co-authorship adjusted hm-index, spans the years 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Dr. Chowdhary's research interests are diverse, covering computer vision and image processing. His extensive body of work encompasses image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, biometric systems, deep learning, soft computing, and computational intelligence. Google Scholar, as of 2024, reports over 2517 citations to his work. He has shared his expertise through invited talks on medical image processing.

A prolific author, Dr. Chiranji Lal Chowdhary has edited or co-edited 9 books and authored over sixty papers/chapters in the field of computer science. His research has led to the filing of three patents. Dr. Chowdhary also serves as a potential reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals, reflecting his standing in the academic community.
