Chirag holding chirag (Chirag in Sanskrit means lamp; a source of light)
I am Chirag Gyani, a guy fascinated by medical technology, traveling, and of course, food.
Coming from a family of doctors, my interest in medical devices sparked at an early age. My inquisitive and explorative outlook towards this blend of engineering and medicine drove me to opt for a double major in my undergrad and to develop a diverse skill-set. Later on, to complement the broad spectrum of knowledge I acquired and to channelize and take it ahead, I decided to pursue my master's in biomedical engineering (specializing in medical devices) from Duke University.
I've always considered doctors to be in the noblest profession and following them, the engineers who make this healthcare possible. Similar to doctors, my perception towards healthcare is driven by the Latin phrase, "Primum non nocere" (First, do no harm), a part of the original Hippocratic Oath. The development of innovative medical devices from scratch, working in a team of experts from various domains, is where I envisage myself making my contribution to the society.
