In today’s assignment, you get to be the teacher! You’ll be assigned one of the following ancient Chinese dynasties to teach your classmates about:
Teachers are experts in their content area, but they also depend on other experts to help determine the most important content and skills to teach their students throughout the year. The National Education Association (NEA) and American Federation of Teachers (AFT) are among the content experts who have worked together to create a set of learning standards for Social Studies students.
Here is the state learning standard to keep in mind for your lesson. State Learning Standard: SS.H.1.6-8.MC. Use questions about individuals and groups to analyze why they, and the developments they shaped, are seen as historically significant.
In this case, the group you are teaching about is the ancient Chinese dynasty you have been assigned. You will be teaching students about that dynasty, what it is known for, and why it is considered important in the course of history.
Included below is an example project done for the Ming Dynasty.

Start the assignment listed, and find a video about your topic. If you cannot find a better video for your topic just use the suggested video below.
For EdPuzzle.com, include 4-5 questions about the main points in the video to check for students’ understanding. Include the link to your video on your Padlet page.
You will receive a group grade based on the final, finished product that you submit. For this reason, it is important that everyone in the group helps each other out. To complete the project efficiently, we will break the group up into two different teams; there will be a Padlet team and an EdPuzzle team.
Here are some helpful, instructional videos that guide you through some of the more confusing tasks related to this project.
