Rationale
This school is designed to train students and early-career researchers in the main aspects of the ALMA Observatory. It consists of a week of lectures and hands-on sessions on synthesis imaging, fundamentals of mm/submm interferometry, ALMA data reduction and CARTA analyses, including scientific presentations from local astronomers showing state-of-the art ALMA research. As part of the school, it includes a coordinated visit to the ALMA Observatory at 5000m and the Operations Support Facility (OSF) near San Pedro de Atacama.
Costs
There is no registration fee. Daily meals, accommodation and transportation to San Pedro de Atacama will be fully covered for students and partially covered for postdocs or other early-career researchers. Funding for transportation from your institution to Valparaíso might be covered depending on evaluation by the Local Organizing Committee.
