Questions and Takeaways
At the end of the workshop, participants were asked to leave their thoughts on two topics:
In light of what you’ve learned today, please submit a question or suggestion someone outside of your own sector, i.e. for an educator, clinician, or researcher.
What will you pass on to your ‘home’ colleagues from today’s event?

Follow-up projects: September 2021
In the summer of 2021, presenters from the May CPD workshop co-wrote a journal article titled Supporting adjective learning across the curriculum by 5–7 year olds: Insights from psychological research. It discusses findings on adjective development from linguistic, psychological, and pedagogical research, and provides an evidence-based, practical guide for practitioners supporting 5-7 year-old children. This journal article was published in 2022:
Davies, C., Syrett, K., Taylor, L., Wilkes, S., & Zuniga Montanez, C. (2022). Supporting adjective learning across the curriculum by 5–7 year olds: Insights from psychological research. Language and Linguistics Compass, 16(11), e12476. https://doi.org/10.1111/lnc3.12476
We also adapted that article into a short video resource to be used as part of a School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme. You can access it here ->
