Volunteering!

I currently volunteer across three pediatric hospitals as a Child Life Volunteer, supporting certified child life specialists in playrooms, bedside activity deliveries, and pop-up events for patients who are unable to access communal spaces. In this role, I assist with developmentally appropriate play, crafts, and games that promote normalization and emotional comfort for children with complex, chronic, and acute medical needs, including those experiencing long hospitalizations or isolation precautions. I help adapt activities to meet children’s physical abilities, energy levels, and emotional needs while consistently adhering to strict infection control and safety protocols. Through ongoing collaboration and shadowing with child life specialists, I have gained meaningful exposure to assessment, goal-directed interventions, and interdisciplinary care. This volunteer experience has been deeply meaningful to me and has affirmed my passion for child life, as I find purpose and fulfillment in creating moments of normalcy, connection, and joy for children and families navigating medical challenges.
