Hello everyone! / 大家好! / みなさんこんにちは!
I am happy to establish a new lab at the prestigious National Tsing-Hua University.
Our research focuses on unraveling the mechanisms of T cell activation and tolerance, which are crucial for understanding various physiological and pathological conditions, including autoimmunity, inflammation, cancer, and aging.
Our Lab's Priorities
We prioritize several key values that I believe are important for a conducive research environment:
1.Embracing Curiosity
Research is fundamentally about satisfying our curiosity. Many breakthroughs in science have arisen from curiosity-driven inquiry. In experimental medicine, it's common to encounter unexpected data. But that's often where the most exciting discoveries happen. We value critical thinking about experimental results and encourage students to approach experiments with curiosity, as it is the foundation of innovation.
2.Celebrating Diversity
I have been fortunate to work in diverse research environments, which have broadened my perspectives and opportunities. I welcome students from all backgrounds and cultures to join our lab, recognizing that diversity fosters creativity and collaboration. In addition, I will actively support students in presenting their data in international meetings.
3.Embracing Enjoyment
While hard work is crucial, it's equally important to find joy in research. Let's create an environment where everyone can learn, grow, and collaborate while enjoying the process. We aim to create a supportive and enjoyable atmosphere where researchers can thrive, both within and outside of Tsing-Hua."
