Welcome to my website!
I am an independent accounting researcher. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) in May 2024.
My research explores the interrelation between (1) the properties of information and (2) the use of information. I exploit unique settings and data to capture interesting exogenous variations or understudied properties of information.
My dissertation examines how changes in information dissemination brought about by EDGAR adoption, and resulting changes in information user base and information processing, affect the textual properties of MD&A. I leverage optical character recognition (OCR) to convert images of pre-EDGAR 10-K into machine-readable text.
My publication at Management Science studies the effect of changes in information reliability on the use of that information and other market outcomes. We study the used-car market and exploit a regulation that presumably enhanced the reliability of used-car mileage by creating its historical records and thereby curtailing odometer rollbacks.
