Biography :
Amine Mohamed Chibane, better known as "CHIBANE", is an Algerian songwriter and performer born June 05, 1984 in Algiers.
From an early age, he began to compose and write songs and multiplied artistic experiences. Eager for new styles of music, Chibane is always looking for fusions while remaining attached to North African music in general, and Algerian in particular.
In 2006, he joined the group "Diwan Dzair" as a percussionist and singer in the company of the master Maalam BENAISSA with whom he participated in numerous national and international concerts and festivals in order to promote Diwan music.
In 2009, he moved to Morocco and created "Matouche" where he embarked on a new musical adventure with two Moroccan guitarists (Samir Djabbari and Rachid Khalil), a trio of gypsy jazz and Mediterranean music fusion, revisiting gypsy jazz standards and the Algerian music hall of the 30s.
In 2011, he contributed with other citizens and artists involved in the creation of the CLACC (Collective for the Freedom of Cultural and Citizen Action) to reclaim public space and Algerian streets through the organization of street concerts. and urban cultural events.
Back home in 2013, he then began to write, compose and design a world music fusion project. It was in 2014, when he signed with the production One Shot, that he decided to devote fully himself to his passion and decided to make it a profession in its own right.
He released his first 13-track duo album in 2016 entitled “Melomania” which won over the Algerian public with its freshness, energy, lyrics and different influences and rhythms.
Chibane returns in 2018 with his new solo project "Music-Houl", from music hall in Algerian sauce to urban sociolinguistic texts, all in a jazzy festive atmosphere, and released his first single Mademoiselle Algérie, right after doing the cover while algerianizing the legendary song Bella Ciao.
In the aftermath of the Hirak demonstrations of February 22, 2019, Chibane felt a pressing need to bring his stone to the edifice that the Algerian people were building, which gave birth to the song "Youm echa3b", more famous under the title of " Libérezl'Algérie" considered to be the anthem of Hirak and viewed millions of times on social networks. in collaboration with musicians as Aboubakar Mattallah, the artist Amel Zen, the actress Mina Lachtar and several other artists from different cultural and artistic fields.
Following the same track, and thanks to the inexhaustible inspiration privided by the Algerian people, he released the song "Systeme Dégage" used by the citizens during the multiple events of Hirak, as well as the song Samidoun, the latter being a duet with the music group Tergui Tikoubaouine . He also did not forget to pay tribute to Algerian prisoners of opinion with the song Libérez Zou3ama.
On the first anniversary of the outbreak of the Smile Revolution, he wrote a song called Echa3b el Magnifico, the clip of which was shot in the middle of the protests.
A committed singer and fervent defenders of freedoms, he released the song Solta Rab3a in collaboration with the Sma3na collective for the freedom of the press.
Chibane goes from collaboration to collaboration and in 2020, he writes, composes and performs with singer Amel Zen the song Bini W’Binek.
