Welcome to Illinois Report by Latino Policy Forum and Welcome to Illinois Partners. 

This is a working document created on November 2023 by the partner organizations of the Welcome to Illinois coalition. It provides a landscape of issues, systems, and resources of the various areas of the humanitarian crisis in areas such as food, shelter, legal services etc.  

Chicago CityKey Program The CityKey card is a photo identification card available to all Chicago residents which will not convey information about national origin or legal status. There are no more public city key programs for the rest of the year.

Community Health FAQs
CommunityHealth provides free, comprehensive healthcare, including medical, dental, and mental health services, to eligible uninsured or low-income individuals. Registration is in-person, with services emphasizing ongoing care and patient education.

State of Illinois/Public Benefits 

Illinois Benefits/Programs For Migrants (Shriver Center - June 26, 2023.  Housing information not current)
Benefits available for newly-arrived Illinois residents who are undocumented or who may be preparing to file an application for a U visa (for survivors of certain crimes), T visa (for survivors of trafficking) or asylum

Chart  of Benefits Eligibility (Shriver Center for Poverty Law)
Eligibility based solely on type of Parole status granted (individual must also be an Illinois resident, meet income and age guidelines and other eligibility criteria).
