BABOOLALL Chetan Anand entered Parliament in 2024 with a clear mission: to be a voice for progress and a catalyst for meaningful change across Mauritius. With a powerful blend of legal acumen and a deep commitment to public service, he brings over 20 years of experience in law and institutional advisory to the National Assembly.

A seasoned Barrister practicing at BABOOLALL Chambers in Port Louis, he has earned a reputation for integrity, diligence, and principled leadership. Throughout his legal career, he has served as Legal Advisor to several national institutions including the Rodrigues Regional Assembly, the Dental Council of Mauritius, the Tourism Authority, the Municipality of Curepipe, and the Tourism Employees Welfare Fund—always with a focus on fairness, development, and institutional reform.

Hon. BABOOLALL was called to the Bar at the Honourable Society of Middle Temple, London in 2003, following a distinguished academic path that includes a Master of Laws (LLM) in Criminal Litigation from City University London and legal training from BPP Law School. His background in both law and business gives him a unique perspective on the socio-economic needs of Mauritius.

As an MP, he is driven by a vision of a more just, modern, and opportunity-rich Mauritius, where institutions are accountable, citizens are empowered, and every community can thrive. He is known for his strategic approach, legal insight, and unwavering belief in the power of bold ideas backed by action.

Beyond politics and the courtroom, Hon. BABOOLALL is a committed community leader, currently serving as President of the Sir Leckraz Teelock SSS Alumni Association, where he mentors youth and promotes educational advancement.
