The Town of Chester is developing a Comprehensive Plan to guide the community's future growth and development. A comprehensive plan is a long-term strategic document that defines a community's vision and goals for the years ahead. Throughout the planning process, members of the community will be involved through the Comprehensive Plan Committee, through a community survey, and through public workshops.

🧑🤝🧑Public Workshop #1- Wednesday, September 10th, 4 - 7PM at the Town Court Room (6307 US-9, Chestertown, NY 12817)- This is a casual, interactive event where you can explore planning resources, share your ideas, and chat with the planning team. Public workshops allow for attendees to stop by anytime and stay for as little or as long as they'd like.
📋Community Survey - As part of this process, a survey will be conducted to better understand the Town - its people, places, and daily life - and what makes it special. Take the survey here, tinyurl.com/townofchester!
📣Special Events - The planning team may share updates and other comprehensive plan information with the general public at existing community events to help broaden involvement in the plan and hear from more Chester voices!
💼Town Board Meetings - As the comprehensive planning process progresses, there will be presentations held at board meetings to help inform Town staff and elected officials of the goals, objectives, strategies and other components of the plan. Eventually, the Town Board will adopt a final comprehensive plan.
