In 2025, I launched TalonSplit.com to feature Chestatee runners in both Cross Country and Distance Track.  I also take race photos of our runners as most parents do not venture deep into the woods along the courses to see their kids and I also serve as the team's cartographer (mapping and measuring our trail system).

I have actually been photographing and creating graphic and video content for Chestatee Cross Country and Track events since 2022.  While Chestatee home meets were generally attended by a school photographer, most away events were left without any coverage.  Because of this, one day I took out my wife's camera and headed off down the trail.  What started out as a means of taking photos for my daughter immediately resulted in several asking me to get a shot of their kid as well.  So the photos, in conjunction with a SmugMug account, started this journey as we sought to provide local exposure to the Chestatee community about sports that generally are not celebrated much.  But photos were one thing, but local media coverage was another, and that is where the idea of the TalonSplit project came up.  And for those that have not figured it out yet, the name is a play off MileSplit with 'Talon' showing it is War Eagle centered.

While the website is independently run and designed, I donate the labor, photography, and design work to help out the Chestatee Distance programs at no cost to the school or athletes.  I also closely with the coaching staff to make sure the information that is provided is accurate.
