Who we are
Chess Realms is published by BinaryKeys Apps. Contact the developer through the Google Play listing for this app.
What the app does
Chess Realms is a chess game. You can play on one device, pass the phone between two people, or play the computer. The computer opponent runs on the device. Games and settings stay on the device.
Information stored on your device
The app stores, only on your phone or tablet:
- saved games and game history
- settings such as theme, clock, board, piece style, sound, and haptics
- the id of a game you can continue
This information is not sent to BinaryKeys Apps. The app has no account, no sign-in, and no profile.
Ads
When the device is online, the home screen can show a banner ad, and a full-screen ad can appear after a finished game. Ads are served by Google AdMob.
Google may process:
- the advertising ID
- IP address
- device and app information used to deliver and measure ads
That processing is described in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
and Google's advertising policies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Ads use the Chess Realms AdMob units shipped with the app. BinaryKeys Apps does not sell your personal information.
You can limit ad personalization in your device settings (Google > Ads, or the equivalent setting on your phone) and by resetting your advertising ID.
Permissions
- Internet and network state: used to load ads when you are online. The chess game does not need a connection.
- Advertising ID: used by AdMob to show ads.
- Vibration: used for haptic feedback if you leave that setting on.
Children
Chess Realms is not directed at children under 13. Do not use production ads in a version you list as made for families unless you follow Google's Families policy.
Stockfish
The computer opponent can be Stockfish 17.1, which runs as its own program on the device. The engine does not send your games to the internet. Stockfish is covered by the GNU General Public License. The license text is in the app under About.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated text will be shipped in the app and the date at the top will change. The public web copy used for Play Console should be updated at the same time.
