Checkmate: Advice With Chess
An informative advice column in the Opinion Section of the most notable student-run college newspapers, The Ithacan, at Ithaca College. Founded and written by then-sophomore Chess Cabrera, Cabrera used their privy and knowledge as an active community member - both a (Lower Terraces) Residential Assistant with Ithaca College's Residential Life and Martin Luther King Jr. Scholar (18th Cohort) - to build the "Checkmate" advice column which aimed to give relevant advice on prevalent issues in the Ithaca College community to serve underrepresented and underinformed communities during the Fall 2021 semester.
