All of our tournaments follow the same registration procedure. Please make sure you do ALL the steps listed to ensure you are registered.

1. Create a CFC ID if not already done so

   1. Click here to create a CFC account. Make sure to use the information of the child who is competing.

   2. All tournaments which are not classified as "junior" require players to have a CFC membership. CFC memberships can be purchased from the JustGo portal.

2. Create a Lichess account and join the group if not already done so

   1. Click here to create a lichess account.

   2. Join the Layer Chess Club lichess group found here.

3. Fill out the Form and Pay

   1. Click on the "Register" button at the top of this page and fill out the form.

   2. A payableapps.com link will be shown on the submission page and be sent to you immediately via email. Clicking it will allow you to pay via a credit card or pre-authorized debit.

• Tournament Date: Friday, October 23, 2026 @ 7:00 PM

• Format: 5 Round Swiss, 10 minutes + 5 second increment time control

• Estimated Length: ~2 hours

  • There is a 1 minute break between rounds, so ensure you are always paying attention to the tournament page as the next round may start at any time.

• Tournament Entry Fee: $7.00 CAD

  • Refund Policy: Any cancellation requests at least 7 days prior to the tournament start time will be issued a 100% refund. We will not process any refunds after that.

• Sections (will be combined if there is fewer than 9 players in a section):

  • Open

  • U1200

• Ratings: CFC Quick, Lichess Rapid, and Layer Chess Club rated.

• Prize: Top 3 in each section are granted free entry into any future tournament of their choice.
