Data Collection and Usage
Chess Story does not require you to create a Chess Story account. Most of your game progress, training progress, preferences, and chess analysis results are stored locally on your device.
Some features require an Internet connection and use third-party services as described below.
Advertising — Google AdMob
Chess Story uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google AdMob may collect or process information such as device identifiers, Advertising ID, IP address, device information, approximate location derived from IP address, and advertising interaction data to provide, measure, secure, and improve advertisements.
Depending on your location, device settings, age where applicable, and consent choices, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized. You can manage advertising and privacy preferences through the consent options provided by the application, your device settings, and your Google account settings.
Chess.com Data
Connecting a Chess.com username is optional. If you choose to provide a Chess.com username, Chess Story accesses publicly available Chess.com information, which may include your public profile information and game history.
This information is used to analyze your chess games and provide statistics, game insights, identification of strengths and weaknesses, and personalized training recommendations.
Chess Story does not request or have access to your Chess.com password, private messages, or other private Chess.com account information.
Game Analysis and Progress Data
Chess games imported from Chess.com may be processed by Chess Story to generate chess analysis, statistics, estimated performance, strengths, weaknesses, critical moments, and training recommendations.
Your training progress, game analysis results, preferences, and other app progress are primarily stored locally on your device.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Chess Story offers Premium access through one-time purchases and recurring subscriptions.
Payments are processed by the platform from which you obtained the application, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store. Chess Story does not receive or store your payment card information.
Chess Story uses RevenueCat to manage purchases, subscriptions, restore purchases, and determine whether Premium features should be available to you. RevenueCat may process information related to purchases and subscriptions, such as transaction information, purchase history, subscription status, technical device information, and an app user identifier.
Analytics — Firebase Analytics
Chess Story uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the application is used and to improve its features, performance, and user experience.
Firebase Analytics may collect or process information such as app interactions and events, device and app information, identifiers, approximate location information, and usage data. This information helps us understand, for example, which features are used and how users interact with the application.
Meta App Events
Chess Story uses Meta App Events and related Meta technologies to measure app usage and the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
Meta may receive or process information such as app events, device information, identifiers, and information relating to interactions with the application. This information may be used for analytics, attribution, measurement, and advertising purposes in accordance with Meta's privacy practices and applicable consent requirements.
Internet Access and Third-Party Services
Chess Story uses an Internet connection for features that require communication with external services. Depending on the features you use, the application may communicate with Chess.com, RevenueCat, Google Play, Apple App Store, Google AdMob, Google Firebase, and Meta.
These third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable legal requirements.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with or processed by third-party service providers where necessary to provide application functionality, advertising, analytics, attribution, purchase and subscription management, online game import, and related services.
Your Choices
Connecting a Chess.com username is optional. You may use features that do not require Chess.com without providing a Chess.com username.
Where required, you can manage advertising, analytics, and privacy preferences through consent options presented by the application and through your device or account settings.
Purchases and subscriptions can be managed through the Google Play or Apple App Store account used to make the purchase.
Data Retention
Data stored locally by Chess Story remains on your device unless it is removed through the application, the application's data is cleared, or the application is uninstalled.
Information processed by third-party services may be retained according to their respective privacy policies and legal obligations.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, object to, or restrict certain processing.
For information stored locally on your device, you can remove it using available app controls, clearing the application's data, or uninstalling the application.
