Visited Cheryl's studio to get her gorgeous print, "Horsepower." I'd seen it at the Artists Market earlier this year, but I was already buying another of her prints, just love her work! But couldn't stop thinking about that print since I love horseracing and spend time at Saratoga every summer, so I called and arranged to buy it. Hard to believe she can get such vivid colors with watercolor.
I had a lovely time at her studio, talking with her and her husband and learning about some of Cheryl's inspirations and experiences. And the beautiful lake views from her studio are no doubt very inspiring as well.
I would definitely recommend a visit to her studio, you'll not only find great artwork but feel like you're visiting a new friend!
Cheryl is both an amazing artist and person. Her watercolors highlight the beauty of Ithaca and the Finger Lakes and make great gifts to share Ithaca with others. She was also nice enough to work with me and find a time to buy directly from her and her studio rather than risk shipping so close to the holidays. Highly recommend.
A wonderful afternoon visit! Thank you to Cheryl (and her husband) for making a brief and safe studio drop-in possible during this unique time. Such a nice studio and display space overlooking Cayuga Lake . My husband Ellis and I loved Cheryl's beautiful watercolors of local places, some of which we had visited while in the area, making great mementos of our trip. Also, she has some paintings of special locations beyond the area. We gladly took away several pieces for our home and to share as gifts. We will certainly look her up on Etsy and Amazon for future purchases. Thank you again, Cheryl!
If you are a fan of Cheryl Chalmer's art work, plan a visit to her new studio in a beautiful location overlooking Cayuga Lake. Her vibrant yet soothing watercolors of the local area and beyond are mesmerizing and it is so nice to see all of them in one location. The studio is filled with prints, note cards, mugs, scarves, tiles, etc that make wonderful gifts. The only negative of visiting Cheryl's studio is that you will want to take everything home with you!

The Watercolors at the Cheryl Chalmers Art Studio are exquisite. The use of color to elicit a mood is absolutely fantastic - whether it is a scene of nature, a scene that includes buildings, or even action oriented paintings such as horse racing. Her prints and other assorted items that include her watercolors (i.e. coasters etc) are reasonably priced and make wonderful gifts. Cheryl is an extremely talented artist and I am so pleased to own both originally commissioned pieces and many of her prints. They brighten up whatever room they are displayed in.

Cheryl's new studio on the lake is a gem! Beautiful, cozy space with plenty of light. I was already a fan of Cheryl's work when I visited, and I discovered all sorts of pieces that I hadn't previously seen. Cheryl was flexible about scheduling my visit and took a lot of time to help me choose some Christmas gifts for family. I already want to go back!
Just met this artist at the Canandaigua Winter Festival - and she is my new favorite! Love her use of color and different mediums!
