Why am I running for the South Bend School Board? Because I have a long-term stake in our success.

By the time my youngest child graduates from high school in 2040, I will have had children continuously enrolled in our schools for 35 years.

Four of my children have already graduated from Adams, Clay, and Riley, and I still have two kids to go. I have a daughter in middle school at Lasalle, and a preschooler who will enroll in kindergarten next year.

What I bring to the table:

• Education: M.A.  in Political Science, B.A. in Political Science, B.A. in Religion. I was also a National Merit Scholar. I understand the importance and components of a high-quality education.

• Entrepreneurship: I built a successful small vintage reselling online business from my home, which allowed me to earn money and stay home with my children. Although small, my business has been profitable for the last 25 years.

• Experienced Leadership: I have been active in the community as a Cub Scout Committee Chair, leader in my church's music ministry, and coaching high school Mock Trial at Adams High School. My mock trial teams have been state champion runners-up twice, in 2022 and 2026.

• Engagement: For the last school year, I have been regularly attending our school board meetings to become more familiar with community concerns and the improvements our schools are making.

Wrestling with public policy is a treat for me. I enjoy the nitty-gritty details of government. I have the knowledge, passion, and experience to be a valuable member of the School Board. I would be honored to earn your vote.
