Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Position Overview

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the highest-ranking executive position within Chernair and is responsible for the overall management, direction, and day-to-day operation of the organization.

The CEO oversees all areas of Chernair and provides leadership to the organization's directors and administrative staff. This position requires a broad understanding of every major aspect of Chernair, including flight operations, community engagement, console operations, humanitarian operations, military operations, sports, events, and the various systems that support the airline.

The CEO is ultimately responsible for ensuring that all departments are working together toward the continued success and growth of Chernair.

Core Mission

The primary mission of the CEO is:

Lead Chernair, support its members, and ensure every part of the organization continues moving forward.

The CEO is responsible for maintaining the overall vision of Chernair while ensuring that the organization remains active, organized, welcoming, and enjoyable for its pilots.

Executive Leadership

As the highest-ranking executive, the CEO provides overall leadership and direction to Chernair.

The CEO is responsible for:

• Establishing the overall vision and direction of Chernair.

• Overseeing all departments and directors.

• Making major organizational decisions.

• Setting priorities for the organization.

• Ensuring departments are meeting their responsibilities.

• Resolving significant organizational issues.

• Approving major policies and initiatives.

• Coordinating projects that involve multiple departments.

• Ensuring Chernair continues to evolve and grow.

• Representing the organization and its leadership.

The CEO should lead by example and maintain a high standard of professionalism, communication, and accountability.

Day-to-Day Operations

The CEO is responsible for maintaining awareness of the day-to-day operation of Chernair.

Because the CEO oversees the entire organization, they are expected to have a strong working knowledge of every major area of Chernair.

The CEO should understand the fundamentals of:

The CEO is responsible for looking beyond Chernair's immediate needs and considering the organization's long-term future.

This includes:

• Identifying opportunities for growth.

• Expanding Chernair's flight network.

• Improving the pilot experience.

The CEO should work closely with the Director of Community Engagement to understand the overall health of the Chernair community.

The CEO has final executive authority over major organizational decisions.

When making decisions, the CEO should consider:
