1000 is a wearable sculpture made from recycled and discarded items. With a desire to create sustainable artwork, Cherie set herself a challenge to make a colourful and playful piece avoiding the use of virgin materials. Peele was able to utilise expired plaster bandage, newspapers and hundreds of half used,discarded balls of yarn. Through this artwork she was able to transform scraps and remnants into over 1000 colourful pom poms adorned on three large wearable spheres.

1000 was selected as a finalist in the Zart Artist Teacher Prize, 2021.
