My father, Gary Patterson, passed away in November 2023, leaving behind his renowned layout and extensive personal train collection in his Lima, NY home. My father was a dedicated member of both the Livonia and Hemlock communities and was very active in Livonia Rotary and the Hemlock Fair. He attended school in Hemlock, and that will make it even more special for my dad’s trains to be donated to his beloved FCTT club and his layout to be relocated to its new home at Little Lakes Community Center (the former Hemlock School building). It has been a long and arduous process to complete all the necessary work, but with your generous support, the public will be able to enjoy his masterpiece while learning more about the people and resources of our area.

To donate: Checks (made out to FCTT HiRailers Inc, with CVRR in the memo line) are appreciated and can be mailed to Cheryl Lavery at 6655 Big Tree Road, Livonia, NY 14487. If all is successful during Phase 1, we plan to display a list of top donors and local business sponsors within the layout-room of Phase 2.

Phase 1 is planned for a first-floor room next to the LLCC Gift Shop. Modular sections created by my father will be used to develop an initial layout, allowing myself and FCTT members an opportunity to establish our venture and plan for the next phase based upon community response.

During Phase 2, the goal is to remove my father’s basement layout and relocate it to a larger area within the LLCC building.
